Amie Celender, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping others find their authenticity. I have extensive experience providing individual, couples and family counseling for teens and adults who were victims of trauma through Empact’s Trauma Healing Services. As the Clinical Director for Rosewood’s Intensive Outpatient program, I created and developed programming for clients recovering from eating disorders, managed treatment team meetings, facilitated group lectures and family support groups and provided individual, couples and family therapy. The most significant relationship in life is the one with yourself. My mission is two-fold: helping you create a healthy relationship with yourself, and an authentic connection with others.

Growing up as the youngest in a large blended family, I received a first-hand lesson in the complexities of family dynamics. I found myself put into the position of “mediator” when family conflict would occur, and it seemed like a natural response for me. As I grew up, I realized how important communication, functional boundaries and healthy relationships are in a person’s life. This focus on my family’s relationships left me feeling isolated and neglectful of my own inner emotions. Therapy provided me with the tools to explore my own feelings and attachments and led me to developing a healthy sense of self. These tools continue to guide my therapeutic process and are what I strive to provide for my clients. My style is empathetic, direct and collaborative within a professional and non-judgmental atmosphere. I have a passion for life, I love traveling, hiking and attending live comedy and music. I want to help you to heal from what is holding you back and find your joy. Together, we will celebrate your successes and achievements along the way. I am looking forward to meeting with you soon.
